George Mayo

George Mayo, Advisory Board Member

George started his career at IBM Corporation in Charleston, SC. where he served as a Health Care Industry Specialist for 13 years to insurance companies, hospitals and medical practice staff organizations. George was then recruited by Price Waterhouse where as Director of Healthcare Management Services he led a national Healthcare Staff initiative. While at Price Waterhouse, George also ran a management consulting practice that serviced healthcare organizations throughout the United States. As a line of business head, George also oversaw the development and delivery of numerous software products and services. Following his tenure at Price Waterhouse, George joined McDonnell Douglas as a Vice President in MD Health Systems where he was responsible for managing Physician Systems support services nationally and developing a leading edge client server based hospital system. George then served as an EVP for Primetech Healthcare, an IT consulting firm of which was also a principal. George earned an appointment as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California Post Graduate Medical Education organization and he was also appointed to the California Advisory Committee for Health and Human Services by the Governor or California. George has spoken nationally on healthcare IT issues for the HFMA, AHA, ECHO and NDEDIC, and he has been published in HFMA Magazine, Healthcare Informatics Review and the Disease-a-Month medical journal. George also served in the Georgia Air National Guard.

George received a B.S. degree from The Citadel in Charleston, SC where he majored in Business Administration.
